2010 ISC Feb Color/Sketch Challenge

I have not played ISC stamps for quite a while! When I found out that the ISC Feb Color/Sketch Challenge ends today, I had to play!

I applied a technique called Embossed Layered Resist (which I learned from Hero Arts blog http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2010/02/03/a-colorful-video-for-you/ ) for my focal point. As to the background paper, I applied Cuttlebug Smoosh technique which I learned from Technique Junkie Newsletter Oct 2007. All the stamp images are by ISC.

Paperbag Studios Feb Stamp Challenge - Wired

I love Paperbag Studios stamp images very much! But I have not played any of its stamps for quite a while! I happened to find out that today is the last day of the February Stamp Challenge! Wow, so today is the day to play!

I used Secret Spot rubber stamp as the focal point and applied Brayer Spotlight technique which I learned from Technique Junkie Newsletter. To qualify for the challenge, I used red and green wire to highlight the spotlights!

ISCC23 Inspired Jewelry

I have missed ISC (Innovative Stamp Creations) challenges for quite some time. I am glad I finally took time to participate this ISC Challenge 23- Inspired Jewelry, which ends today. Actually this is the very first stamped jewelry I have ever made and I am so excited it is a success!

I stamped the key image (from ISC Minibook Series:Photo-Negative) on a piece of plain grungeboard. I applied Ranger Alcohol Inks on a piece of fragment. When dry, I glued the fragment onto the grungeboard and trimmed the grungeboard to fit the exact size of the fragment. Then I assembled the necklace by adding a connector to the back of the grungeboard and a jump ring, and da la...

Betsy, thank you for this challenge which inspired me to extend my limits!

ISCC18 Crackle Paint Challenge

This is for ISC C18 Crackle Paint Challenge.

Requirements are as follows:
1. Use any of Ranger’s Crackle Paint or Cracked Glass Technique
2. Use only ISC stamp images

I used images from ISC Holidays plate. I applied Ranger’s Crackle Paint Faded Jeans on edges of different layers of cardstocks as well as the snowflake brad. I hope the tiny and thin cracks on the edges are visible!

ISCC17 Grungeboard Minibook with a Twist

I am glad to urgently squeeze time to participate ISC Challenge again. Today is the last day to enter ISCC17 - Grungeboard Minibook with a twist.

I used images from ISC .Nature Silhouettes I and Minibook Series: Photo-Negative. I followed instructions from Beate Jones’s Meander Book to finish my mini book. I used 3/4” wires but it seemed to be a bit too large. Maybe next time I should use 1/2” wires.

I covered the grungeboard crown with Distress Stickles Fired Brick on the front cover,

and covered the grungeboard heart with Distress Crackle Paint Aged Mahogany on the back cover.

I think this minibook looked OK! Since it was done within a short time, I really can’t complain to much! Thanks for coming and looking!

My Artwork on Vamp Stamp News April 2008

It was quite a thrill to see my artwork being published on the front cover of Vamp Stamp News April 2008! My excitement and honor were absolutely beyond description!

Vamp Stamp News April 2008 featured a theme of Earth Friendly Stamp Art. The first idea came to my mind was to make use of all sorts of thin scraps that I saved from previous projects/cards. It is a very old technique named Weaving and indeed very easy.

All images are by Artistic Outpost. And I’d like to thank Robyn (owner of Artistic Outpost) for awarding a free stamp plate as a publication incentive!

For those who are not familiar with Vamp Stamp News, I personally quite recommend this monthly magazine. It is jam packed with all sorts of stamping and paper art knowledge. It used to only take checks but now accepts credit cards.

My Artworks on Take Ten Spring 2008 Issue

I had two artworks published on Take Ten Spring 2008 issue.

I actually mailed out 6 cards for the Design Challenge. But it turned out that none of the cards were selected. Nevertheless, I found two of my previous submissions being shown! What a surprise!

The first card was on page 79. All images are by I Brake for Stamps. And I’d like to thank Della (owner of I Brake for Stamps) for awarding a free stamp plate as a publication incentive!

The second card was on page 39. It is a simple monochromatic card. All images are by Stampin’ Up.

ISCC - Artsy Tag

I was so happy about being awarded 1 FREE stamp sheet of choice and 2 clear calendar cases by Betsy (Owner of Innovative Stamp Creations) for my entry to ISCC15 – Alter This! Betsy, thanks a million for your generosity!

ISCC16 – Artsy Tag is an interesting challenge in that participants have to use one of techniques from Tim Holtz’s blog, ISC exclusive stamp images and a manilla tag (#8).

I finally decided to use ISC Summer Elements III as the theme image and applied Tim’s September Technique, which I think is exactly the Brushless Watercolor Technique introduced in his first DVD, An Altered Journey. I also applied Tim’s July Technique which is similar to Faux Batik introduced in his first DVD, An Altered Journey.

I am the third one to enter and I’m a bit puzzled : Hi Friends, what are you busy about? Are you all busy making the Christmas cards? Or the low participation is a side effect of recent global financial turmoil?

ISC15-Alter This!

This is for ISC15 Alter This! Challenge! Oh, I can’t believe I am the first one to upload and today is the deadline! What happened to other stampers? I downloaded the calendar from Red Castle Inc. The stamps I used are from ISC Flowers & Elements. I used VersaMark Resist technique for the background.

This is the first time I ever combined a calendar into a handmade artwork. Betsy, thanks for this wonderful challenge!

ISCC14-Sketch Challenge
