Hi Artsy Friends,

Following the previous card, I used the positive die cut text to make this CAS card. Hope it’s eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.

Stars Can’t Shine Without Darkness

I’m motivated to make a card using washi tape. Even though there is no white space, this card is actually a CAS card because what I applied are simply washi tape, embossing paste and a text stamp.

I haven’t made any cards for quite a while. Boy, the pandemic has worsened my workload! I’m quite happy to finish this card which combines washi tape, die cut, stenciling with paste and heat embossing. The glimmering stars are simply gorgeous. Hope it’s eye pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by.

Card Details

1. Washi tape is by Altenew (Watercolor Nebula Washi Tape). Stencil and text stamp are by Altenew too.

2. Glimmer Paste is by Nuvo.

You are Every Bit of Wonderful

Hi Artsy Friends,
It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) ATC (Artist Trading Card/Coin) Challenge again. The June Challenge Theme is Monochrome.

For Challenge Rules and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog.

I finished this set of ATC right before the deadline. Hope they are inspirational and eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.

ATC Details

I got inspirations from Jennifer McGuire’s tutorial here. The following are how I made my version.

1. Apply Distress Ink over dot stencil (Tim Holtz) on ATC panel. Apply White pigment ink on top of Distress Ink. Heat set to dry.

2. Apply three shades of Distress Inks over Leaf stencil (Simon Says Stamps).

3. Stamp text (Simon Says Stamps) in black over leaf image and mount to ATC panel. Voila!

My favorite technique is to apply different inks/mediums over stencils to create backgrounds and/or focal point.

Sending Hugs & Happy Thoughts

Hi Artsy Friends,

I’m glad I made this card right before the deadline of CAS Stencil May Challenge. Boy, I haven’t been able to play this year due to unusually busy life schedule. Yet I’m so sad this is the last challenge. Thank you, DTs, for all your inspirations in the past. I’m honored to have been picked as Outstanding Designs several times.  I’m glad I still have CAS Mix Up to play in the future.
Hope my card is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by.

Be You

Edited on 5/9/2020
I'm thrilled that this set of ATCs was chosen as a Top 3 by Crafter’s Castle Challenge #28. Thanks, DT. You certainly made my day.

Hi Artsy Friends,
I hope you’re doing well under prevailing Coronavirus situation. Are you staying home to save the world or continue working/living as usual?

Anyway, it’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) ATC (Artist Trading Card/Coin) Challenge again. The April Challenge Theme is Make Your Own Background. For Challenge Rules and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog.

For me this theme is like Anything Goes and the possibilities are endless. To try something new, I challenged myself to use Distress Oxide Sprays which I bought last year and have not even opened yet. The following is how I made my set of ATCs using Distress Oxide Spray Resist Technique inspired by Jennifer McGuire.

Hope these ATCs are eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by. Wish you and your loved ones stay healthy during Coronavirus difficult time.

ATC Details
1. Stamp three cosmos flowers with VersaMark and heat embossed in clear on burgundy ATC panels.

2. Spray Distress Oxide Sprays (Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar)randomly on ATC panels and heat set.

3. Sprinkle Distress Oxide Spray (Squeezed Lemonade) randomly to add depth.

4. Stamp flower centers and heat embossed in gold. Cover ATC panel borders by VersaMark pen and heat embossed ATC panel borders in gold.

5. Glue text tissue paper and cover all ATC panel with Matte Medium. Surprisingly all colors become vivid and bright.

6. Attach ATC panel to ATC base. Voila!
