Get Well Soon – Stenciling with Perfect Pearls again

Hi Artsy Friends,

This is my second try of Stenciling with Perfect Pearls. I tried to create an Ombre effect by applying four shades of Perfect Pearls: Forever Red, Rust, Plum and Blush. But, as you can see, the color looks the same!

Ha! I don’t mind, anyway! I enjoy playing with this almost-forgotten toy. I’ve been buried by my full-time job lately. So making CAS card is a treat for me. Hope this card is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by.

This card is for my another niece. The young couple will settle down in Seattle. I wish her and her Prince Johnny happy ever after.

I am happy with this card because I finished it just in time for her. Besides, I played with Perfect Pearls over stencil for the first time.

The pearlized shine is so pretty.

Card Details
1. Apply Distress Inks on a grid stencil (Altenew). Mist the stencil and flip it to stamp on a card panel.
2. Die cut butterflies (Memory Box). Apply Perfect Medium on butterfly details then cover it with Bronze Perfect Pearls to get Faux Metal effect.
3. Die cut text (Hero Arts). Apply Perfect Medium on text then cover it with Bronze Perfect Pearls to get Faux Metal effect.
4. Stamp text (Hero Arts) in black on card panel and heat emboss .
5. Affix butterfly, text and sequins on card panel. Mount the card panel to card.

Starry Night, You Shine Like a Diamond

After making yesterday’s Starry Night card, I can’t help making another one with a twist. The starry night consists of heat embossing stars in silver and droplets of perfect pearls water. I must say the sky is gorgeously sparkling and shining.

Starry Nighit Holiday Cheer

We got an unexpected typhoon holiday here in Taipei today. Benefitting from this, I was able to make a card. Ha! This is also the first time in my life that I made a Christmas card in a typhoon day.

自製復古金質噴瓶顏料（DIY Perfect Distress Mist）

前陣子在台北後火車站(太原路)上，Helen意外地發現了容量很小的噴瓶（以下簡稱「台灣超小噴瓶」），非常興奮，一口氣就買了二十個！這兩年Helen一直想要自製「結合復古顏料與金質粉的噴瓶顏料」（如圖一）的心願終於可以如願以償了！ 

圖二是台灣超小噴瓶與Ranger Mini Mister的比較，台灣超小噴瓶的容量正好是Ranger Mini Mister的兩倍！外型比Mini Mister稍微矮胖一些！

這「結合復古顏料與金質粉的噴瓶顏料」在Tim Holtz部落格中並無標準名稱，提到的名稱包括Pearlized Distress Mist、Perfect Distress Mist、Perfect Pearl Mist等等，都是同樣的東西，Helen暫且稱之為「復古金質噴瓶顏料」，就是用復古顏料補充液（Ranger Distress Re-inker）加上金質粉(Ranger Perfect Pearls)，再加上水，就成為自製復古金質噴瓶顏料了！ 

復古顏料共24色（加上今年的新色12色共36色）和金質粉共24色，自然有無數種的組合！Helen原先想參考同好的配方經驗，省得傷腦筋，不過goolge的結果並無所獲，最後還是自己試驗囉！ 

以下就是Helen的配方，除了瓶蓋上貼有顏色方便辨認，顏料的配方也貼在瓶身上(如圖一)，不然鐵定馬上忘掉哪一瓶是什麼顏色了！大家若有需要歡迎參考，需要直接列印貼在自己的瓶子上也無妨，不過拜託請勿全文轉貼在您自己的部落格中，Helen認為全文轉貼是侵害他人的文字權喔！

調配這十八瓶顏料大家猜總共花多少時間？呵呵竟然花了一個下午的時間哩！復古顏料與金質粉的搭配花了點腦筋、製作配方標籤和顏色標籤又花了點時間，還有調配也要時間，總之，時間真不經花啊！

十八瓶顏料調好了，如何儲放也是個問題！沒想到Helen竟找到了個相當適合的空盒子（如圖三），看來不隨便丟東西總是有好處的！

忙完了，自然迫不及待要噴一噴驗收成果，嗯！這五張tag(如圖四)顏色及質感相當美，大家可以放心沿用Helen的配方！

附註說明

1.      台灣超小噴瓶的容量是Ranger Mini Mister的兩倍，故需補充液兩滴管（不是兩滴喔）、金質粉用冰棒棒子兩瓢，再加水至四分之三瓶身滿，蓋好然後搖晃、至瓶底無金質粉沉澱，便可以噴色了！

2.      台灣超小噴瓶經打折後一個才新台幣10元呢！太划算了！

棉花球上色技法（Cottoned Color）

買了工具，若不常用，不僅浪費銀子還佔據空間，是令人懊惱的事！這次要介紹的是技法，所使用的工具先前都用過，應該不會”害”大家多花錢唷！（習自Technique Junkie Newsletter April 2007）

 

所需工具

 

水性墨水*(Dye Ink Refills or Reinkers)2或3色、完美珍珠粉* (Ranger Perfect Pearls)、棉花球數個（Cotton Balls）、白色水彩紙、調色盤、牙籤、有噴頭的塑膠瓶內裝水、拋棄式手套

 

步驟

 

1.          將水性墨水滴在調色盤中，每種顏色約滴2－3滴，顏色間勿重疊。

 

2.          加少許完美珍珠粉到墨水中，並用牙籤攪拌至完美珍珠粉溶解在墨水中。

 

3.          將有噴頭的塑膠瓶內裝水，並將整張水彩紙噴微濕（以利吸收顏料）。

 

4.          帶上拋棄式手套，用一只棉花球沾上含珍珠粉的墨水，將顏色隨意的輕拍在水彩紙上。用不同棉花球沾不同的顏色（以避免混出髒色），直到顏色佈滿整張水彩紙。依個人偏好，可重複拍色，增加顏色深淺的變化及層次感。

 

5.          待乾後，水彩紙會呈現珍珠光澤，非常美麗！可單純當背景或用深色印台如Stazon、Brilliance或復古印台蓋上主題章，加上裝飾便可完成卡片。

 

附註

 

1.          水性墨水含復古印台墨水（Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers）和Ranger ColorWash。墨水顏色深淺可自行掌握，想要淡色，只要滴幾滴水稀釋墨水，再調勻即可。

 

2.          若沒有完美珍珠粉，可用Jacquard 公司出產Pearl Ex，二者均為雲母粉（Mica Powders），唯後者未含固定劑（binder），同樣的步驟 (1－4)完成後，須先噴上固定劑（Spray Fixative），Pearl Ex才不會在水彩紙乾後脫落。

 

這次5張作品使用的水性墨水都是Ranger復古印台墨水。

 

圖一所加的完美珍珠粉是Perfect Gold ，大家應看的出金色光澤！

圖二所加的完美珍珠粉是Perfect Pearl，呈現的是銀白色珠光。主題圖案和字章另用Krylon Leafing Pen Copper銅色金葱筆勾邊，襯底的黑卡紙則隨性噴上金色大理石噴漆（Krylon Webbing Spray），增加背景的變化。

圖三亦清楚呈現銀白色珠光，同樣用Krylon Leafing Pen Copper銅色金葱筆勾邊，增加層次感。

圖四的棉花球上色背景，使用Perfect Pearl，只單純做背景襯紙。

圖五則是金銀並陳，另有一種質感。不知miracle這個字是不是起源於聖經，個人非基督徒，但是相信奇蹟是可能發生的，只要我們有足夠的意志力和努力，這和不切實際的奢望不同！第一次看到這個章就被這句話深深吸引：Everyday holds the possibility of a miracle. (每一天都握著奇蹟的可能性)，人生偶有挫折，請不要喪志或放棄，請記得這句話：每一天都握著奇蹟的可能性！

 

每次做卡片，除了琢磨技巧也感覺在修身養性，浸淫在美好或富哲理的字句中，讓我能用更樂觀的態度看待週遭事物！這真是意外的收穫啊！希望妳也有同樣的收穫！

 

乾壓凸完美珍珠粉技法 - Dry Embossed Pearls

等了3個月，Cuttlebug的壓模機和壓凸版型才到貨，終於可以玩這個技法了（學自2月份Technique Junkie雙月報）！Ranger公司出產的完美珍珠粉(Perfect Pearls)所散發的金屬或真珠般的色澤，搭配浮雕的細緻紋路，讓背景呈現出另一種華麗的美，令人驚艷！（相機實無法抓住它閃亮的華麗美！） 

所需工具

深色卡紙（如黑色、咖啡色、酒紅色等）、完美珍珠粉3-4色、寬約1公分的水彩筆（1色1隻）、調色盤、Cuttlebug的壓模機和壓凸版型（可用銅片、針筆和光桌代替）

步驟 

1.      用微濕的水彩筆沾上第一色完美珍珠粉直接塗在卡紙上，可塗成直線狀、橫線狀、或斜線狀。若筆太乾，可在調色盤上噴些水讓水彩筆沾（避免水彩筆太濕），若沾上的完美珍珠粉太多，亦可塗抹在調色盤上備用。

2.      接著上第二色和第三或第四色完美珍珠粉，均用同法。為避免顏色渾濁，每個顏色用一隻筆。整張卡紙全部塗滿後，待乾。卡紙會有些捲曲沒關係。

3.      等待過程可以先完成主題圖案。

4.      將全乾的背景紙以Cuttlebug的壓模機和壓凸版型壓出浮雕紋路，加上主題圖案和裝飾，便完成卡片。 

附註 

1.      「乾壓凸」是直接翻自英文Dry Embossing，就是大家熟悉的用銅片壓出浮雕效果的步驟。這個名詞是相對於Heat Embossing，個人翻成「燙凸」：使用印章蓋上浮水印台或各品牌的Pigment Inkpad/Craft Inkpad，灑上凸粉，以熱風槍加熱使圖案浮出的方式。乾與燙的區別在於有無使用熱風槍。 

2.      完美珍珠粉本身含固定劑（Pearl Ex則無），用微濕的水彩筆沾上完美珍珠粉直接塗在紙上，完美珍珠粉的色澤便附著在紙上，無須在表面再噴固定劑（Spray Fixative）。 

3.      由於使用深色卡紙，在光桌下用銅片以手工壓凸非常困難（因光桌的光無法透過）。在此分享國外同好的訣竅：先將銅片放在卡紙背面上，用鉛筆描出圖案，再將銅片放在卡紙下面（卡紙的珍珠粉條紋面向下，背面向上），固定好相對位置，仍可以完成手壓凸。

圖二主題圖案是運用「金屬烙印法」，Family: Other things may change but we START and END with family.  其他的事情可能改變，但是我們開始和結束在家庭。這句話深得我心，也因此我採用烙印法，我們和家庭的關係真是如烙印般深刻啊！也很意外銅的顏色和酒紅色竟搭配的天衣無縫！

圖三主題章是用紫色泡泡筆上色，再灑上亮粉。

圖四的珍珠粉背景是塗在米黃色卡紙上（因為不信邪，想看看用淺色卡紙的效果如何？）感覺好像較不耀眼！背景右邊的古銅玫瑰，也是用完美珍珠粉上色的！印章用Perfect Medium(類似浮水印台的透明膠水印台)輕拍後，蓋在卡紙上，用乾的水彩筆沾完美珍珠粉，抹在透明圖案上，珍珠粉會黏在有膠水的圖案上，圖案因而浮現。和Popping Pastel的技法類似。

圖五的新娘禮服，用微濕的白圭筆沾3D膠塗滿，再灑上亮粉。 

若想用簡單的方法完成華麗風格的卡片，這個技法真是首選喔！希望大家喜歡，若有問題也歡迎提出！
