Hello and Hugs

Hi Stamping Friends,

Inspired by Altenew’s April Inspiration Challenge (color scheme and non-floral theme), I quickly made this postcard which will be for a stamping friend.

It is not my usual style but it’s kind of fun and playful to try the cute style. Hope you like it too. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.

Card Details
1. All stamps are by Altenew.
2. Embossing Powder is by Wow.

Edited on 5/11/2019
I’m so glad that this card was pick as a Winner by Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 195. How wonderful. Thanks, DTs.

Hi Artsy Friends,

Watercoloring is not something I’m good at. Yet I’m happy to challenge myself and finish this card before the weekend. Yay!

Hope you like this card. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day!

Card Details
1. Poppy stamp and die are by Penny Black. Boy, I’ve had them for many years and it’s a shame that I waited until now to use them.
2. Texts are by Simon Says Stamps. Leaf frame cover die and grid stencil are by Altenew.
3. Color the Poppies stamp by red and green Distress Markers. Spritz water, then stamp at watercolor paper.
4. Stamp Distress Inks on Craft Sheet. Apply wet paint brushes to pick up Distress Inks to color the poppies. When dry, die cut the poppies.
5. Spray Distress Mist over Grid stencil on a white panel and let dry.
6. Die cut Leaf Cover die from a white cardstock.
7. Assemble the card as shown.

Thinking of You When I Made This Card

Edited on 5/11/2019
I am thrilled that this card won the following awards.
This indeed is triple excitement!

Hello Artsy Friends,

I love playing stencils and I love playing with embossing pastes as well. I’m happy when I finished this card. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.

Card Details
1. Apply Distress Paints, Distress Inks and splitzed water over background stencil (The Crafters’ Workshop) to make the background panel.
2. Apply Glossy Black Embossing Paste over focal floral stencil (Tim Holtz) on background panel. When dry, the Glossy Black Embossing Paste shines amazingly pretty.

3. Apply White Embossing Paste over stencil randomly on white card base.
4. Heat emboss text in black. Mount the floral panel on card. Voila.

Hello, You Make Me Smile - Herringbone

Edited on 4/21/2019
I’m happy that this ATC was picked as a Top Three by Through the Craft Room Door Challenge out of 100+ entries, with the following remark:

Such a great idea to recycle scraps to make such colourful and striking cards especially in a climate where everything seems to be disposable and single use.

Hi Artsy Friends,
I’m so excited to become a member of Happy Little Stampers (HLS) ATC (Artist Trading Card/Coin) Challenge Design Team starting from April. I haven’t made ATCs for a long time. The DT role will surely enable me to make more ATCs in the future. Ha!

The APRIL Challenge Theme is PERTTY PAPERS.

For Challenge Rules and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Please join us for the fun.

Pretty Papers made me think about the scraps/leftovers of Mixed Media background papers that I’ve kept. The following are how I made my ATC.

ATC Details

1. Dig out my previously-made Mixed Media background paper scraps.

2. Apply Herringbone Technique to arrange the paper scraps to a panel.

3. Stamp text in black ink. Die cut texts from black card stock and adhere to Herringbone panel. (Texts and Die Cuts are by Hero Arts.) Mount the panel to a white ATC card base. Viola!

I hope these ATCs are eye-pleasing to you.

For my previous Herringbone Technique card, please check out here. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.
