Hi Stamping Friends,
It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) Mixed Media Challenge again. The September Challenge Theme is MESSY.
For more details and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Anything mixed media could be linked up to our challenge as long as it follows our theme. Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!
Honestly speaking, I am not sure what MESSY really means. It’s dumb, I know. Ha! I thought something dark, dirty or muddy might qualify as MESSY and this tag is what I came up with. For me, this is really a challenge because I tend to use pretty and bright color schemes. I'm delighted that I challenged myself to go beyond my comfort zone. Hope this tag with galaxy background is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day.
Tag Details
1. Apply several Distress Oxide Inks directly on watercolor paper.
2. Spritz generous amount of pearlized water on paper.Heat set.
3. Apply Black Soot Distress Oxide on acrylic block, then randomly cover paper.
4. Spritz generous amount of pearlized water on paper. Heat set.
5. Use Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain to create lots of white spots and heat set.
6. Cut the paper into a tag and sponge the edge with Black Soot Distress Oxide.
7. Stamp stars and heat emboss in silver. Stamp moon and text and heat emboss in white. The messy tag is done!
I'd like to thank Jennifer McGuire for the inspiration.

ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous tag, and a great technique. Living in a house of sci-fi fanatics, being able to do a nice galaxy background is a huge bonus, so I may very well come back for inspiration in future!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for entering with Rhedd's Creative Spirit this month. Unfortunately in order to be in the running for winner/runner up, the substrate would need to be something other than paper/card. But I appreciate your fab tag anyway! Sammy-x
