Missing You

Edited on 4/4/2019
I am so delighted that this card won the following awards.
This sure is double happiness.

Hi Artsy Friends,
I continued to try Stenciling with Powdered Inks (Brusho). And I’m excited to use my new 3D die cut set to make dimensional roses as the focal point. The roses are covered with Wink of Stella. The shining look is gorgeous.

I hope this card is eye-pleasing with you. If it is, please drop me a note. Thanks so much for stopping by and wish you a great day.

I Appreciate All That You Do

Edited on 4/4/2019
I am glad that this card was featured on Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog #347.

Hello Artsy Friends,

I was so inspired by February CAS Stencil Challenge that I dug out my NEW Brusho set and made this card. This card is for a colleague who turns out to be a very close friend. I must say I like it a lot. The entire background is shown below.

I die cut the center to make this card. Hopefully I’ll make another card using the outer frame very soon. If you like this card, please drop me a note. Thanks so much for stopping by and wish you a great day.

Card Details
1. Stencil and text stamp are by Hero Arts and die is by My Favorite Thing.
2. Pink embossing paste is made by mixing some Brilliant Red Brusho with Clear Embossing Paste.
3. Die cut tiny heart (Memory Box) and cover with Glitter Ritz Fire Red to make a sparkling heart. The sparkling red heart is really gorgeous.

4. For more Stenciling with Powdered Inks techniques, please check out CAS Stencil Challenge Blog.

I chose embossing paste and sequins.

My Clean and Simple card was inspired by the color- red and heart.
I did not play with the optional color twist.

Art Journal Page- Have An Open Heart

Edited on 4/4/2019
I am happy that this page was chosen as Top Pick by Love To Craft Challenge #31.

Hi Stamping Friends,

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) Mixed Media Challenge again. The February Challenge Theme is VINTAGE.

For more details and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Anything mixed media could be linked up to our challenge as long as it follows our theme.

Starting from 2019, I decided to challenge myself to create art journal pages as my DT artworks for HLS MM Challenge. This is my second try. For me, VINTAGE is something with lots of dark colors like black and brown, some classic patterns like flourish, latticework and mosaic, some shining looks like gold metal, and some symbols like Fleur-de-lis and key. This is what and how I came up with.

Art Journal Details

1. Stamp text backgrounds (Tim Holtz) in black and apply several Distress Inks on page.

2. Apply Distress Oxide Ink Black Soot over Stencil on border of page.

3. Apply Distress Oxide Ripe Persimmon over Mosaic stencil (sorry I forgot to include these on photo), Gathered Twig over Silhouette Woman mask, Candied Apple over Sunburst stencil on page.

4. Apply Pearlescent Embossing Paste over Flourish stencil on two opposite corners on page and let dry.

5. Die cut hearts on red cardstock and cover with clear Wink of Stella. Adhere several Small Talk (
Tim Holtz) stickers on page.

6. Stamp key and Fleur-de-lis (by Tim Holtz) with VersaMark and heat emboss in Gold. Voila!

The following are some closeups.

I hope my page is eye-pleasing and inspirational to you. Please drop me a note if you like it. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day.
