Keep Your Face to the Sunshine

Edited on 7/28/2018

What a delight that this card was chosen as the Winner by My Besties International Challenge Blog June – Anything Goes/Option Summer. Thanks, Sherri.

Hi Stamping Friends,

I was so inspired by this card of Snippets – Karen that I made mine in no time. Thanks, Karen!

A portion of my previously made cardstock (for this project) looks extremely like the ocean! What a coincidence! Hope this CAS card is cheerful to you. Thanks for stopping by.

Card Details
1. Sunburst stencil is by Tim Holtz and stamps are by Technique Tuesday.

2. For Watercolor Stencil Stamping Technique, please check Shari Carroll’s tutorial at Simon Says Stamp Blog here.

Smile and Sparkle

Edited on 7/28/2018

I’m extremely happy that this card was selected as Honorable Addict by Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #296- Anything Goes. Thank you, DTs.

Hi Stamping Friends,

We have a holiday here in Taiwan today - the dragon boat festival. Yay! In addition to eating Zongzi, a triangle-like sticking rice dumpling, I managed to finish a CAS card and I’m absolutely happy about this.

Card Details

1. I used up some of my previously-made mixed media scraps by weaving them randomly and layering as a background layer.

2. Butterfly die cut is by Sizzix/Tim Holtz. Text is by Happy Little Stampers.
3. Gold, Silver Metallic and Sparkle Transparent Embossing Powders are by Tsukineko.

Hope this card is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great week ahead.

I combined Mixed Embossing Powders Technique and Encrusted Jewel Technique to make my butterfly. Thanks CAS Mixed Up DTs for the challenge theme and the inspirations.

My choice in this card is Die Cut. I must say the embossed butterfly is awesomely shining and sparkling as can be seen below.

I have butterfly, Metallic (Theme) and Mint Green/Medium Blue (Color) in my card.

Happy Day

Edited on 7/28/2018

I’m thrilled that this tag was chosen as Top 3 by Country View Challenge June - The Written Word, with the following compliment:
I love the graduating colour change in the background and the use of the layering. The stencilled leaves add subtle detail allowing the purple flower to stand out.

Yay! Like the tag’s title, it’s a happy day.

Hi Stamping Friends,

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) Mixed Media Challenge again. The June Challenge Theme is LAYERS.

For more details and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Anything mixed media could be linked up to our challenge as long as it follows our theme. Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

I must confess (again) that due to time constraints, I had no idea what and how to start. Luckily I was so inspired by Shari Carrol’s video tutorial that I kicked start quickly. The tag is full of layers. The following is how I made the tag.

Tag Details
1. I mimicked what Shari did (please see the YouTube tutorial) and made four background papers in one time.

2. Picked one of the background cardstock and cut into the tag size. Overstamp text background (by Stampers Anonymous).

3. Applied Pearlescent Embossing Paste over leave stencil (by Simon Says Stamp) on tag and let dry.

4. Stamped flower and stem (by Altenew) and die cut. Heat emboss text in white on black scrap.

 5. Assembled the tag. The pearlescent shine is really stunning.

The tag’s vividly bright colors together with the elegant flower and leave made me happy. Hope it is eye-pleasing to you.  Thanks so much for stopping by and wish you a happy day.

This is my first time ever to play along with Altenew challenge. I was inspired by the color and the element – flower.
