You’re an 11 – MCC#100 Anything Goes and a Giveaway!

I hope this card’s background technique and card design look mysterious to you because I intended to enter it into Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge – It’s a Mystery! For me, something that I can’t figure it out at first sight is mysterious! Ha!

In addition, this card was made for More Cards Challenge #100 – Anything Goes and I would like to dedicate it to MCC hostess – Rainny. I salute to her for her big heart to host More Cards Challenge on a bi-weekly basis in the past four years. Her passion, discipline and persistence have no doubt won my respect and I am so proud to have been in her design team since the very beginning.

Dear Rainny, on a scale from one to ten, you’re an 11! Bravo and well done!

Photo II shows how the card looks like when you open it. I learn this card structure from a recent class named Holiday Card Workshop offered by Online Card Classes.

本週魔卡挑戰進入第100次挑戰了，這真是件了不起的事，讓我們一起給瑞尼最熱烈的掌聲吧！一份義務工作，憑藉的是熱忱、毅力或甚至是使命感，能夠持之以恆即將進入第四個年頭，這真不是常人做得到的，Helen要向瑞尼致上最高的敬意，台灣卡界有妳真好！Helen也很榮幸從一開始就是MCC展示團隊的成員，除了激勵自己不要怠惰，也希望能為台灣卡界盡點心力！

Hello - Celebrating World Card Making Day

World Card Making Day is October 5 this year!

    

Paper Craft Connection Blog is holding an activity called Celebrating the International Aspect of World Card Making. Be sure to check out! Moxie Fab World Blog Host Cath Edvalson invited 12 crafters from 12 different countries to each create a card and answer a question.

I am so thrilled to be invited. The other 11 crafters are from countries in Asia, Europe and North America. I have known their names and admired their talents and artwork for quite a while. It is indeed my honor to be on list with them. Thanks, Cath! Here is the card I made. I would like to say HELLO to card makers worldwide!

Card Details

1. Sentiment stamp and die cut are by Papertrey Ink.
2. Washi tapes are by kamoi and Mark’s.
3. Wood veneer is by Simon Says Stamp.
4. The technique I used is named Die Cut Inlay by Jennifer McGuire. The same technique is called Inset Die Cuts by Julia Stainton. This technique also reminded me of some artwork of mine done several years ago using positive and negative die cuts. Please check out Wish, Joy and Grateful!
5. I am not sure if I am cheating. I will also enter this card to Handmade Cards Week, The Metal, Wood & Cork Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Say it with Stamps.

XOXO -- 六張 Artist Trading Card (ATC) 之九

These are the last series, series 9, of the ATCs I made for Stampers in Taiwan Gathering Activity back in July this year.

Since black is not my style, I seldom used black as background. But I wanted to try this technique – pencil coloring over white ink on black cardstock. I think the outcome is fine. It surprised me that lots of stampers chose this set when we were doing ATC exchange!

2.      Oil-based Color Pencils are by Faber-Castell. 

All in all, I made a total of 45 ATCs in nine kinds as shown below.

 

 

 

The Best is Yet to Come --六張 Artist Trading Card (ATC) 之八

These are a series of ATC (Artist Trading Card) that I made for a special gathering activity - Stampers in Taiwan Gathering back in July! Boy, I was so so busy that I totally forgot to share! 

I like the quote – The best is yet to come. Then we can always hope for the best, right?

1.      Background technique is called Alcohol Ink Floating, an easy and great technique that you can mass produce background paper in no effort.

雖然【燃燒吧！彩印魂】活動的基本門檻30張ATC，Helen終於做到了，還是手癢，於是繼續趕工中！

這次玩Gelato(一種口紅形狀的水彩顏料)和層次蓋印，Helen混合兩種藍和兩種綠，其中有兩色含有珠光，另以白色印台蓋上圓圈圈、金色金屬印台蓋上小網狀圖案，背景非常豐富， Helen自己相當喜歡！交換到這款的朋友記得在燈光下仔細欣賞喔！

1.所有印章出自Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz。

2.想多了解Gelato的玩法可參考Faber- Castell官網。

【燃燒吧！彩印魂】活動已倒數計時了，Helen繼續趕工中！

這次Helen玩，很久沒玩、但一直很喜歡的VersaMark Resist (浮水印台抗色法)、彩虹印台和滾輪上色技法。值得一提的是，這次Helen用的浮水印台不是普通VersaMark，而是VersaMark Dazzle，加了Dazzle使浮水圖案產生珠光效果，非常美麗，交換到這款的朋友記得在燈光下仔細欣賞喔！

卡片說明

2.蝴蝶由Stampin’ Up刀模壓出。

為了【燃燒吧！彩印魂】，Helen繼續趕工中！

延續昨天的白色油墨印台抗色法，這次玩另一種白色油墨印台技法：鬼魅技法(Ghost Stamping)。

對了，大家有沒有想過Helen對什麼每款都做六張，而不是別的數目呢？

時間不多了，為了【燃燒吧！彩印魂】Helen加緊趕工！

可不要以為這六張ATC是單純的蓋印喔，白色底紙上有美麗的紋路，蝴蝶的身上也有浮現底紙紋路，要在燈光下斜斜得看才會清楚。交換到這款ATC的朋友，可別忘了多看幾眼，不要辜負Helen的苦心哦！

 

卡片說明

1.背景紋路印章出自Hero Arts，其他印章出自Papertrey Ink (PTI)。

2.運用技法詳白色油墨印台抗色法(White Pigment InkResist)。此技法Shari Carrol稱為Velveteen Technique (天鵝絨技法)。

承上，這次玩輕復古風搭配可愛圖案，嗯，效果好像也不錯！

承上，做完第一批6張輕復古的ATC，覺得意猶未盡，於是繼續這風格！這次玩粉久沒有玩的自製復古金質噴瓶顏料技法，把顏料噴在型板(Template或Stencil)上面，這是大量製作背景紙的快速方法！

粉久沒有做ATC、粉久沒有玩酒精顏料、粉久沒有做輕復古風格的作品、粉久沒有試新技法、粉久沒有玩新玩具！哈哈！這六張ATC就是在這樣的情況下做出來的！  

卡片說明

1.     所有印章出自Hero Arts。

2.     新玩具為Wink of Stella Brush，蝴蝶上閃亮亮效果就是用這支筆完成，非常好用。

3.     新嘗試技法為Alcohol Ink Floating，暫且翻譯為酒精顏料漂浮技法。

好一個「搾片集團」(含玻璃裂紋技法作法 Cracked Glass Tutorial )

沒聽說過被「詐騙」還開心的，而且還歡喜的被「搾片」兩次！那當然是因為此「搾片」非比「詐騙」囉！

8月25日的「搾片集團」第二次團聚在板橋舉行，雖然因延期而使到場人數減少，仍然可以用熱鬧非凡、高潮迭起來形容！在此向四位主辦人：芬仔、Ellen、千雪、Jean致敬和致謝！對Helen而言，不僅能和一些格友敘舊、看到更多格友/卡友的廬山真面目、更難得的能向Peggy和Apple兩位「前輩」（聞道有先後，並非指年紀喔！）現場學習！這次的聚會，還是那句話：真是賺到了！

另一個收穫是，由於芬仔沒有給我特殊待遇（上回千雪和Jean有特別恩准），我只好乖乖的照規定做了些ATC（Artist Trading Card）！ATC這幾年在手工卡片界如滾雪球般，受到熱烈的歡迎，然Helen向來不喜歡跟流行，因此一直沒有嘗試著做！這回真是被逼的，加上颱風的幫忙，讓我多了幾天時間完成，最後竟完成四種版本(如圖2至5)，這是個突破，自己也很開心！算是因禍得福！

圖一則是當天的交換卡，由包子媽咪抽到！我提醒她，花朵上面有細細的玻璃裂紋*喔！她很進入狀況的回答「這個技法我看過！」後來輪到我抽籤，哈，竟然抽到包子媽咪的卡片（如圖6），真是太有緣分了！包子媽咪的卡片有許多Helen最怕的燙凸功夫，超感動的！

當天Helen共帶了35張ATC去，換回來27張(如圖7&8)，看起來好像是吃虧了，不過Helen不這麼認為！4張送給辛苦的四位主辦人，1張送給熱心幫大家訂ATC envelope的Koala，1張送給讓我搭便車的燕玲，另2張則送給坐在旁邊的格友！

若要說有什麼美中不足，那就是還有好些人的ATC卡沒抽到或交換到，算是遺珠之憾囉！不過這樣會期待著下次，也是很好的！
 
對了，忘了提最後的摸彩，若沒記錯，應該是每個人都有獲獎耶！這麼好康的「有吃又有拿」到哪裡找啊！所以這次沒能參加的格友，下次一定要排除萬難來參加喔！
 
*玻璃裂紋技法的做法如下：

1. 先在卡紙上蓋印、上色；

2. 用VersaMark浮水印台輕拍整張卡紙，灑下超厚透明凸粉(UTEE，Ultra Thick Embossing Enamels)；

3. 用熱風槍加熱，直到UTEE全部融化；

4. 重複步驟2&3，此時圖案就像覆蓋著玻璃般；將卡紙放進冰箱冷凍庫2分鐘。

5. 取出卡紙，左右手分別拿住卡紙的兩端，以圖一為例，是拿住上下兩端，兩手用力往相反的兩端扳，卡紙會發出「ㄅㄧㄚ、ㄅㄧㄚ」的聲音，上了兩層釉的卡紙上便產生裂紋，若希望裂紋密一點，雙手就多扳幾次即可。

6. 若沒有UTEE，可以用一般透明凸粉代替，不過最好要重複4-5次的步驟2&3，釉才夠厚，冰凍後扳開才會有裂紋產生。
 
至於這4張ATC所用的技法，都是「關於分享技法的疑惑」中用過的，大家應該會很眼熟！Helen過幾天就上傳詳細步驟！
