Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge – 2023 July Anything Goes

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge again. The Challenge Theme is always Anything Goes.

It’s super easy and all you need is kick starting your creativity and share it with us. For Challenge Rules and other DTs’ inspiration artworks, please check out our Challenge Blog. Please join us for the fun. I can’t wait to see your beautiful artwork.

I’m happy to dig out two of my favorite old stencils as well as use some of my Never-Be-Used-Stuff. Hope my card is inspirational to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

The following are how I made this card.

Cards Details
1. Layer two stencils (The Crafters Workshop) together (one on top of the other) on a watercolor paper panel. Spray various Distress Spray Stains (Tim Holtz) over stencils and let dry.

2. Apply Glossy Black Embossing Paste (Dream Weaver) over sentiment stencil (Altenew) on the background panel and let dry.

3. Attach some Metallic Décor (Hero Arts) randomly on the background panel.

4. Woops, I just realized there was no stamping. Ha! So I quickly stamped a sentiment (Altenew) in black.

5. Mount the card panel to a black panel and then mount to a A2-sized white card. The black glossy sentiment really pops.

Other Challenges Entered
I did not play with the optional theme.
In this card, the NBUS items are Black Embossing Paste, Metallic Decors, big sentiment stencil. I’m so glad I finally found a chance to use them.
I did not play with the optional theme.
I prefer Plain paper, especially white, to Patterned Paper, because I enjoy creating my own background paper to the fullest from plain paper.

I was inspired by the butterfly and the color blue in the photo.

Rule of Three for eye pleasure. In my card there are 3 sequins, 2 butterflies clustered with one circle sentiment stamp.

Great Things Take Time

Edited on 9/21/2019
I’m excited that this card was chosen both as a Top 3 and the Winner by The Crafter's Castle August Challenge. How lucky!

Hi Artsy Friends,
I'm excited to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) ATC (Artist Trading Card/Coin) Challenge again. The August Challenge Theme is TIME.

For Challenge Rules and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog.

Inspired by Altenew Academy’s online class - Monoprinting Made Easy taught by Sara Naumann, I practiced my Gelli Plate with Spray Inks together with Pigment Inkpad for the very first time. I must confess it was so much fun that I couldn't resist making a bunch of gorgeous shining background papers. It’s a pity that the photo does not show the metallic shimmer and gold pigment shine.

The following are how I made my ATCs. Hope you like them. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day.

ATC Details
1. Cover Gelli Plate with Gold Pigment Ink (Tsukineko Brilliance). Spray ink sprays (Altenew Metallic Shimmer Ink Sprays and Ranger Distress Spray Stain, respectively) on Gelli Plate. Place watercolor paper on Gelli to create background paper.

2. Cut background paper into ATC size and stamp clock collage (Hero Arts) in black.

3. Attach text sticker (Tim Holtz Idea-ology) and mount the background to a white ATC panel. Voila! Hope you can see the shimmer effect from the closeups below.
