Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge – 2023 October Anything Goes

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge again. The Challenge Theme is always Anything Goes.

It’s October and is supposed to be the Fall season, yet I’m still wearing short sleeve clothes here in Taiwan. This card is in anticipation of the beautiful and bright Autumn. Hope my card is cheerful to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day. 

Card Details

1. Apply various Distress Oxide Inks over leafy Frame stencil (Simon Says Stamp) on a white card panel.

2. Apply Distress Inks on edges, especially the white leave areas.

3. Run the background card panel with a deboss die cut plate (Simon Says Stamp) through the die cut machine.

4. Stamp sentiments (Simon Says Stamp) with Black Archival Ink.

5. Attach some sequins and assemble the card as shown.

Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge – 2023 March Anything Goes

I’m so excited that Happy Little Stampers resumes all its challenges starting from March. Here is Stencil Challenge and the Challenge Theme is always Anything Goes.

I made this card for a subordinate who’s like a grandpa in my office. In my country, the official retirement age is 65 and he’s reaching it this month.

Making masculine cards is a challenge to me because I’m too feminine. Hope this card is qualified and inspirational to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Card Details

1. Die cut a stitched card panel. Apply 3 shades of Distress Oxide Inks via Leaf Wreath stencil (Simon Says Stamp) on a white card panel. When done, place Grid stencil (Altenew) over the Leaf Wreath Stencil and re-apply Distress Oxide Inks.

2. Remove the stencils to see the grid-patterned leaves.

3. Repeat the previous process on the bottom part of the card panel.

4. Altogether I used 6 shades of Distress Oxide Inks.

5. Apply Distress Oxide Ink (Walnut Stain) over Leaf Vein Stencil (Simon Says Stamp).

6. Stamp sentiment (Stampin’ Up, retired) in black.

7. Run the card panel with Cross Stitch Canvas die through Die Cut Machine to increase the visual depth.

8. Die cut sentiment (Simon Says Stamp) with 3 layers of black card scrap. Die cut the sentiment shadow (Simon Says Stamp) with vellum and assemble.

9. Mound the card panel to a green card panel, attach die cut sentiment to card panel and mount to a folded card (5.5 x 6 inches).

Another Happy Retirement Card

I can’t believe I got another early retirement application within the same week. This colleague has worked for 30 years. Normally the turnover rate for senior people is quite low. I actually was not prepared to get two retirement applications right before the Chinese New Year. Yet I guess I just have to congratulate them. She likes plants. Hope my card will touch her heart. I recently had a colleague applying for early retirement. She has worked for 28 years. I think we should congratulate her for the perfect ending to the working journey and a brand new beginning of another journey in life.  28 years are a long time so we should definitely show some loves too. I spent an unbelievable time in placing the various positive heart die cuts, but it’s quite therapeutic anyway! Ha! 

The shine from the holographic hearts and sparkle from daisy centers are just gorgeous. Hope my card will touch her heart. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a relaxing day.

I finally took time to finish assembling a pending card. In fact, it was a homework of Altenew Academy- The Magic of 3D Embossing Folders Online Class. I did a twist to combine Masking with DTP (Direct to Paper) Technique using several dye ink cube pads over an embossed/raised card panel.

Card Details

Embossing folder, die and sentiment stamp are by Altenew. The sentiment die cut was heat embossed twice. The first layer is silver and the second layer is Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Glitter- Clear Rock Candy. Hope you can see the sparkly glittering shine.

For this card, I went incredibly Clean and Simple, inspired by Altenew September Inspiration Challenge. I decided not only to follow the color combo, but also challenge myself to stretch my CAS limit. I must say it’s a bit tough. Finally, here comes the most CAS card I’ve ever made over a decade. Ha! 

I also made a matching envelop. Hope the set is eye-pleasing to you.
