Hi Artsy Friends,

I finally took time to finish assembling a pending card. In fact, it was a homework of Altenew Academy- The Magic of 3D Embossing Folders Online Class. I did a twist to combine Masking with DTP (Direct to Paper) Technique using several dye ink cube pads over an embossed/raised card panel.

Card Details

Embossing folder, die and sentiment stamp are by Altenew. The sentiment die cut was heat embossed twice. The first layer is silver and the second layer is Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Glitter- Clear Rock Candy. Hope you can see the sparkly glittering shine.

Today is my 34th anniversary. Because of the pandemic, we can’t celebrate, no travelling, not even going to a fine restaurant to celebrate! Yet we’re grateful because we, my whole family, are all safe.  

Since I’m staying home, I challenged myself to make a masculine anniversary card for my hubby. (Masculine card is not something I'm good at.) It turned out that he loves it very much. I can see that he is deeply touched. Yay!

Stencil and circle die are by Simon Says Stamp, faceted heart die is by Tim Holtz and sentiment die is by Altenew. Sentiment stamp in card inside is by Papertrey Ink. The quote is romantic, isn't it?

1. Stencil is by Fresh Pink Posh. Flower die and sentiment are by Simon Says Stamp.

2. I rotated/shifted the leaf stencil for five times, i.e. five layers of distress inks for the background panel. 

3. Wink of Stella is applied on flower diecut. It’s shining and very beautiful.

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge again. The May Challenge Theme is once again Anything Goes.

This month I challenged myself to revisit using diecut as stencil/mask technique. This is the Day 4’s homework of Altenew Academy Creative Masking Technique online class. I love rainbow color scheme. Hope this card is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.

 

Card Details

1. All dies and sentiment stamp are by Altenew.

2. Use a cover plate die to create a die cut.

2. Apply various Distress Inks over die cut (serving as a stencil) over a card stock. This is a 2-in-1 technique. The right is used for this card. The left is saved for future use.

3. Die cut sentiment three times and stack together. Die cut sentiment shadow. Mount the sentiment diecut to sentiment shadow. Heat emboss sentiment in white on a black card scrap. 

4. Assemble card as shown.

ATC Details
I got inspirations from Jennifer McGuire’s tutorial here. The following are how I made my version.

1. Apply Distress Ink over dot stencil (Tim Holtz) on ATC panel. Apply White pigment ink on top of Distress Ink. Heat set to dry.

2. Apply three shades of Distress Inks over Leaf stencil (Simon Says Stamps).

3. Stamp text (Simon Says Stamps) in black over leaf image and mount to ATC panel. Voila!
