XOXO- Negative Diecut Stenciling

Hi Artsy Friends,

Following my previous card, I quickly made this one. I definitely love making two background panels at once. Even though it’s a quick card, I challenged myself to make a DIY glitter paper by Glitter Ritz. I just hope you can see the pink sparkly second layer heart.

Hope it’s eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a sparkly day.

Card Details

Stencil, sentiment and die are by Altenew.

Challenge Entered

I chose Any Shape Die, Love Sentiment and Glitter.

Sending Warm Blessings – Layered Die Cuts

Hi Artsy Friends,

I can’t stop making another snowflakes card. Each snowflake is unique and beautiful. Snowflakes are particularly precious for people like me living in subtropical countries. This time I challenged myself applying non-traditional winter/Christmas colors.

Hope this card is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Card Details

All dies and sentiment are by Altenew.

Challenges Entered

I noticed that I also missed Altenew’s March Inspiration Challenge. I’d like to make it up.

I love layered die cuts, snowflake theme and lots of glitters.

Joyful – Triple Glitter Ritz with Stencil

Hi Artsy Friends,

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge again. The December Challenge Theme remains to be Anything Goes.

For Challenge Rules and other DT’s inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Please join us for the fun. I can’t wait to see what you have come up with.

Glitter is addictive. Following my previous card, I challenged myself to further extend using triple Glitter Ritz. Boy, the sparkly shine is so gorgeous. Hope my DT card is inspirational to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Card Details
1. Triple Glitter Ritz Technique is similar to Two-Tone Glitter Ritz Technique demonstrated by Jennifer McGuire a few years ago. You just need to combine the Masking Technique.
2. Snowflakes Stencil/Mask and sentiment dies are by Simon Says Stamp.

Challenges Entered
The snowflake stencil and sentiment die are all my Never-Before-Used-Schtuff. I’m so glad I dug them out.

Happy Ever After – Two-Tone Glitter Ritz

Hi Artsy Friends,

I need to make a wedding card for a subordinate. I revisited an old card and made this one. It’s sparkly gorgeous.

In my country, red is a traditional color for wedding event despite that nowadays young people may not follow the tradition. I used it anyway. Hope my card is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Card Details

1. Stencil is by Simon Says Stamp. Stamp and sentiment are by STAMPlorations.

2. For  more Two-Tone Glitter Ritz cards, please check out my old card. I also applied an old school technique – Faux Metal Technique for the sentiment.

Challenges Entered

I love using dies and stencils in my cards. If I need to choose only one, I’d choose stencil because it’s inexpensive and can be used to stamp, layering, emboss, etc. And you can apply lots of media on it to achieve versatile effects.

Happy New Year! I wish all of you another successful year full of achievements, laughter and love. Let’s stay healthy, be creative and happy throughout the year of 2020.

I made this card for my extremely talented artsy friend, Ann Chuang who was sweet enough to have sent me a Christmas card earlier. The inspirations came from Ann’s card sketch below,

my previous ATCs,

and the scene I saw in my recent trip to Nikko, Japan.

Hope this card is eye-pleasing to you. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day and year ahead.

Card Details,
1. Stamp is by Hero Arts and dies are by Memory Box. Stencil and die cut are by Memory Box.
2. For the mixed media background tutorial, please check out my previous DT post here.

The Christmas Day (12/25) is a normal working day here in Taiwan and I haven’t decorated a Christmas tree in my home for some years. So I’m sharing a snowy landscape card with several snow-covered trees.  I made this card on the last day of 2019 and it surely is one of my favorite cards.

Merry Christmas / Holiday Cheer

Edited on 2/1/2020
I’m super excited that this set of ATCs was chosen as the Winner of More Mixed Media White Challenge as well as a Top Three by ATCs with Heart # 87. Thank you all, DTs. It’s indeed double happiness.

Hi Artsy Friends,
It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) ATC (Artist Trading Card/Coin) Challenge again. The December Challenge Theme is Bling. For Challenge Rules and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog

I instantly thought about making a snowing Christmas theme with lots of bling bling might be a good idea. And boy, these ATCs turned out to be quite gorgeous, so shiny and sparkling! My bling is made out of Glitter Ritz (Transparent Micro Fine Glitter), Gold and Silver Embossing Pastes. Hope you like my interpretation. I'd like to thank and credit my artsy friend/mentor, Mandy, for this Mixed Media Tissue Paper Technique which I learnt from her during a Christmas Handmade Card Gathering in mid November.
Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.

ATC Details

1. Apply three Acrylic Paints (Ocean, Sky, Lapis) on Gelli Plate and mix well with a brayer.
2. Lay snowflake stencil (Memory Box) on Gelli Plate.

3. Place a tissue paper and press with fingers. The tissue paper will get acrylic paints for the positive snowflake images.

4. Remove the stencil and place another tissue paper. Press with fingers. The tissue paper will get acrylic paints for the negative snowflake images.

5. Place two tissue papers together, one on top of the other.

6. Use bottle caps to apply Gold Metallic Embossing Paste on background tissue paper. Boy, this monochromatic mixed media tissue paper background is beautiful, isn’t it?

7. Cut background tissue paper into ATC size. Apple Silver Metallic Embossing Paste over Falling Snow Stencil on ATC background tissue paper.

8. Apply Be Creative Tape on white cardstock and die cut Country Landscape die (Memory Box) from it. Cover Country Landscape image with Glitter Ritz (Warm Highlight).

9. Assemble the ATC and affix text stickers (Tim Holtz) as shown.
