Tag Details

1. Mask and stencil are by Simon Says Stamp. Background and text are by Hero Arts.
2. I first stamped the background text, then applied several Distress Inks as background. I then sponged Distress Inks over the leave mask to create depth. I applied Embossing Paste over leave stencil, then covered with Distress Embossing Powder to create not just the texture but a rustic look.

When I was making this tag, I was thinking about my younger daughter who is a senior college student looking for a full-time job after graduation in next May. I could tell she has been under tremendous stress. “Life is an Adventure” is what I want to tell her. Hope the warm color scheme will warm her heart.

I am happy with what the tag came out. Hope you like it too.

Absolutely Proud of You

This is a card for a colleague who worked very hard for a project which finally won the championship in my bank's internal competition! Wow! This is the first time my division ever got a #1 Position in a contest and I am extremely thrilled!

There are around 200 people in my division. Due to limited available time, I normally make cards for my colleagues for occasions like wedding, having baby or serious illness. Making cards for these occasions (which generally do not happen often for one person) have been manageable to me thus far!

This colleague has been longing for my card, so I decided to make her a card to express my appreciation for the unusual glory she's got for me and my division!

A Vellum Emboss Wedding Card

This is a card for a colleague who recently got engaged. In old Taiwanese tradition, engagement ceremony is held by the bride's side while the wedding is organized by the bridegroom's side. My colleague happened to follow the old tradition but we all treated it as a wedding ceremony!

I wish the young couple forever love and happiness!

Card Detail

1. The tone-on-tone background paper is stamped by a Hero Arts stamp. All other stamps are by Stampin' Up and so is the Rose emboss folder.

2. Techniques applied are Vellum Emboss and Heat Emboss in silver. It is a pity that the photo did not do justice on the embossed silver parts!

Second Get Well Card in 2014

This is a card for a colleague who got a motorcycle accident a few days ago. This card is the sequel of the previous Get Well card. The first card used the positive part of the diecut text, while this card used the negative part.

I hope this colorful and cheerful card will help my colleague to recover very soon! I also hope I don’t need to make the third Get Well card in the near future!

2014年才過第二個星期結束，Helen就需要做出第二張慰問卡，這次是送給部門的一位出車禍的年輕同事！同事因為閃躲另一台摩托車， 卻不幸自己的摩托車車滑倒，因而摔傷。結果下巴縫了好幾針，左手骨裂，雙腳也有多處傷口，災情可謂慘重！由於「肇事」的摩托車並未真正與同事擦撞，且不知去向，交通警察裁定是「自摔」，同事只能自認倒楣！

唉！Helen真是替同事感到心疼與忿忿不平，不過這似乎就是人生。只能安慰同事，沒有腦震盪，且摔倒後沒有被後方來車再撞，真是夠幸運了…. ！祝福同事早日康復，也希望短期內不必再做慰問卡！

Get Well Card

This is a card for a senior relative of mine who got an operation lately.

2014年才剛開始，Helen就需要做一張慰問卡，因為一位長輩開刀了，是換髖關節！光是聽到手術過程的描述，Helen覺得自己的髖關節都痛起來了呢！手術非常順利，不過要恢復行動自如還要好幾個星期！僅以這張卡向長輩加油打氣，祝福早日康復！

年長者開刀換髖關節或膝蓋者時有所聞，不知這是年老的過程無可避免的宿命？還是有機會提早保養，避免問題的發生？

Dream, Discover, Destiny

Helen服務的公司，一直有輪調的文化，有能力和有企圖心的同仁，每隔一陣子接受輪調，培養第二或第三專長是常有的事。剛開年Helen就有一位左右手被徵召轉調到其他部門，Helen再不捨還是必須成全！因此做了張卡片，祝福他在新領域鴻圖大展！

Helen不常也不太會做masculine card(陽剛卡)，手邊陽剛的印章圖案幾近於零，翻箱倒櫃終於找到這顆經典章，再運用冷色系，希望這張卡大家一眼就看出是送給男生的！

搬到新家(Google Blogger)已經一個禮拜了，雖然已經有個樣子，還是有很多東西要調整，例如：Helen想把原先清一色中文的標籤改成英中文並存，就是一個不小的工程。調整的過程，今天偶然讀到這篇文章，心中一下子又甜蜜又傷感，當時的情景也浮上心頭。啊！這就是回憶。這也讓Helen馬上想起目前魔卡挑戰#95的主題，正是「回憶」，然而示範卡截止日前Helen完全沒有 Fu，於是只好缺席，真是對不起瑞尼！

哈哈！既然現在非常有Fu，馬上就做！

Helen覺得卡片上散落的愛心，就像當時女兒撿起的散落一地的桂花，很傳神，是吧？而這回憶讓Helen更加思念離家不到一個月的小女兒。

World of Imagination

This is the third tag I made for my younger daughter. She plans to use it as a bookmark. Although I used same tools, stencil and DIY Perfect Distress Mists, the method are different from the previous two, and so are the effects! Hope you will tell the difference! 

I like the quote too  – 現實世界有其極限，而想像的世界中是無窮的. Hope it will encourage my daughter to think out of the box.

Learning to Dance in the Rain

 

這張書籤也是為小女兒而做的。同樣用復古金質噴液和型版，不過做法和呈現的視覺效果與上一張大不同，不知大家是否看出端倪？ 
 
這句話Helen也覺得很有意思，「Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain. 人生不在等待暴風雨結束，而應學著在雨中跳舞」哇！好有哲理的一句話，也許18歲的大孩子不見得有所領悟，不過看久了，也許能潛移默化培養出逆轉勝的意志力！

Life Doesn't Have to be Perfect...

幾天前小女兒透過FaceTime畫面，以她一貫甜美的聲音問，媽咪妳可以做Tag送我嗎？就是妳常做的那種Artistic Tag，我可以用來夾在課本內！

行行行！這比摘月亮簡單多了，老媽一定設法辦到！

既然要當書籤，Helen覺得版面最好盡量平坦，且不要有太多裝飾品，再搭配立志文字應該很適合，成品如圖一！

背景是用自製復古金質噴液和型版做出，如圖二。

Baby Girl Card

過年期間又有同事生了女寶寶！Helen匆匆做了這張卡讓同事們一起簽名祝福！

同事們對手工卡片都沒有研究，看到Helen的卡片當然都說好美！他們不知道這張卡片其實很簡單，只是簡單的壓出浮雕、蓋個章，用水彩色鉛筆上色，再用濕筆抹一下，塗個亮膠，就可輕易做出有質感的卡片了！

這時Helen也要忍不住要說，有浮雕片這玩意兒真是太棒了！有刀模片這玩意兒也是太棒了！而，可以利用工具在極短時間內做張卡片讓「普通人」高興，感覺更是棒極了！

妗婆的祝福

前陣子夫家每個人的頭銜都晉升了，因為大娘姑的大女兒喜獲千金了！Helen現在晉升為舅媽婆(也就是台語的妗婆)！哇！一方面大高興，一方面也有些感嘆，真是無法想像自己竟邁入了長輩的行列！ 

雖然隔著太平洋，從youtube上可以看到Baby可愛的模樣，祝福grand niece(中文該如何稱呼？真被考倒了！)健康、聰慧、美麗，快快樂樂的長大！

女娃娃卡 (重複蓋印法)

離Helen辦公室最近的的一個單位最近生產力亮麗，連續誕生兩個小娃娃，過年前還會有兩個小寶寶報到，所以接下來Helen要開始囤積嬰兒卡以備不時之需！ 

上一梯送子鳥送的是男娃娃，據說接下來這梯都是女娃娃！ 

母愛真的很偉大，媽媽們不管生產時嚐盡多少苦頭，當談起分娩狀況和baby時，總是神情雀躍，充滿喜悅！ 

不過話說回來，現代人生產的成本真的很高，據說在坐月子中心或請做月子保母，一個月下來要十幾萬！哈！這時Helen還真鬆了一口氣，慶幸自己當時民智未開，沒把做月子當一回事，也因此省了不少錢！ 

無論如何，還是要替勇於生產的年輕人加油鼓掌，不然以台灣目前生育率為全球最低的狀況，若不改善，不敢想像自己老的時候，咱們國家會變成何模樣？

陪爸爸在醫院過父親節

 

今年的父親節前夕，爸爸出了意外住進醫院！父親節那天，由於Helen仍處於緊繃狀態，完全沒意識到8月8日是父親節，哈！直到晚上才跟爸說了聲「父親節快樂」！非常陽春，不過爸爸能保住了性命，應該算是最珍貴的父親節禮物了！

這張簡單的卡片是送給替父親開刀的住院總醫師！爸爸約晚上九點進急診室，清晨一點進開刀房，四點完成手術！真的非常非常的感謝當日值班的醫師，也要向徹夜盡忠職守的醫護人員們致上最高的敬意與謝意！

 

這次事件Helen有些心得想和大家分享：

1. 請提醒長輩們，千萬不要反鎖房門或家門

 

台灣宵小時有所聞，因此較小心的老人家可能習慣在家時或就寢時將大門反鎖；然而當有跌倒等意外發生，且家中無其他人時，門若反鎖將增加救援的困難度及延誤送醫時間！

2. 勿輕忽老年人頭痛、頭暈失衡、食慾減退、肢體乏力等現象

 

家父經診斷是罹患「慢性硬腦膜下出血」，根據神經外科醫師的說法，這是老年人常見的疾病之一。頭暈失衡、肢體無力等症狀很可能導致當事人無預警倒地的意外，做晚輩的平常要更細心，才不會造成遺憾！

誠心希望大家都能健康、平安！

Life is Sweet

I love and have a bunch of MFT (My Favorite Things) stamps. Yet I seldom play with their challenges! What a shame!

I am glad I made this card which was based on this week’s MFT sketch challenge shown below:

Card Details:

1.          All stamps by MFT.

2.          Technique: Paper Piecing.

3.          The cotton candy was covered with white Liquid Applique. Stay overnight and heat. It is a pity that the picture does not do it justice!

4.          The color scheme was inspired by Lily Pad Palette Challenge due on Mar 15.

Helen很喜歡、也有不少MFT (My Favorite Things) 的印章，不過卻不常參加其每週的挑戰活動！很高興這禮拜終於做了一張卡片來參加！

這張卡片想送給即將過生日的小女兒！小女兒從小就是個笑口常開的小孩，看著她帶著笑容、神采飛揚的描述各種事物，一直就是種享受！不過去年九月起明顯感受到她受課業壓力的影響，笑容減少了且時常眉頭深鎖！十七歲的孩子，每天睡不到六小時，週末還要到學校活動一整天，做媽的實在心疼！然而這就是多數高中生的現狀，不是嗎？家長也只能祝福孩子：辛苦耕耘才可能有好收穫！

希望卡片上小女孩的可愛模樣，能讓小女兒舒緩緊繃的神經，即使是片刻也值得！

繼續玩一層卡

這兩天繼續玩一層卡(OLC, One Layer Card)，如圖一！除了還在興頭上，也想把積欠的卡債趕快完清，不然Helen 快成為台灣卡界沒禮貌的人了！ 

這三張卡仍保有簡潔風(CAS)的特色，有許多白面積！用的顏色都是Helen非常喜歡的、美美的顏色，所以完成後心裡自然是開心的！這兩天天氣又變冷了，不過這三張明信卡的色調卻很春天，大家是否有同感呢？

很久沒有玩水彩色鉛筆、光譜印台和SU那飄逸的花朵絕版章了，所以作品完成後，心情格外的好！
