I hope you’re doing well under prevailing Coronavirus situation. Are you staying home to save the world or continue working/living as usual?

Anyway, it’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers (HLS) ATC (Artist Trading Card/Coin) Challenge again. The April Challenge Theme is Make Your Own Background. For Challenge Rules and other DTs’ inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog.

For me this theme is like Anything Goes and the possibilities are endless. To try something new, I challenged myself to use Distress Oxide Sprays which I bought last year and have not even opened yet. The following is how I made my set of ATCs using Distress Oxide Spray Resist Technique inspired by Jennifer McGuire.

ATC Details
1. Stamp three cosmos flowers with VersaMark and heat embossed in clear on burgundy ATC panels.

2. Spray Distress Oxide Sprays (Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar)randomly on ATC panels and heat set.

3. Sprinkle Distress Oxide Spray (Squeezed Lemonade) randomly to add depth.

4. Stamp flower centers and heat embossed in gold. Cover ATC panel borders by VersaMark pen and heat embossed ATC panel borders in gold.

5. Glue text tissue paper and cover all ATC panel with Matte Medium. Surprisingly all colors become vivid and bright.

6. Attach ATC panel to ATC base. Voila!

Welcome to the first Happy Little Stampers’ (HLS's) ATC (Artist Trading Card/Coin) Challenge for 2020. The January Challenge Theme is Masculine.

Honestly speaking, making a Masculine project is very challenging to me because I’m too feminine (ha!) and I have very few masculine stamps. I finally decided to pick a tree image and simply enjoyed stamping and revisiting some basic techniques - brayering, VersaMark Resist and Heat Embossing.

I’m super excited to join the New Release Blog Hop of Happy Little Stampers (HLS). This is my very first time to join a blog hop in my stamping life!

The newly released stamp sets are as follows.

I've made six cards using three of HLS's newly released stamp sets. Although I’m in the Mixed Media Design Team, all my cards are CAS (Clean and Simple) style this time. 

(1st)

The first card was done using VersaMark Resist (or so-called Ghost) Technique. 

(2nd)

The second card simply applied Distress Stain Dabber Direct Technique.

(3rd)

 

The third card used VersaMark Resist Technique again.

 

(4th)

 

The fourth card applied DIY Distress Mist Stenciling Technique.

(5th)

 

 The fifth card applied Distress Stenciling and Heat Emboss Techniques.

 

(6th)

 

The sixth card applied Heat Emboss Technique.

Unlike general mixed media artworks that tend to have lots of textures, this tag has little texture, yet I managed to create lots of layers to enrich the visual effect. The following are how I made my tag.

Tag Details
1. Stamp text background (Hero Arts) on a glossy white tag.

2. Stamp floral stamps (Hero Arts) using VersaMark on text background. Heat to dry.

3. Apply Distress Inks to create VersaMark Resist effect.

4. Apply Distress inks over stencil (TWC) on tag to create tone-on-tone effect.

5. Overstamp floral stamps using Shadow Inks to create more layers.

 

6. Heat embossed sentiment (Paper Makeup) in black and apply Glitz Stickles on center of flowers to create texture.
