Thanks for All You Do – Foiling with Stencil and Paste

Edited on 9/18/2021

I’m thrilled that this card was chosen as a Winner by STAMPlorations August Summer Challenge and a Rising Star by A Place to Start Challenge #8 - What’s Your Style. What an honor!  Thanks, DTs.

Hi Artsy Friend,

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge again. The August Challenge Theme remains to be Anything Goes.  For Challenge Rules and other DT’s inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog. Please join us for the fun. I can’t wait to see what you have come up with.

This month I challenged myself to play foiling with stencil and paste for the very first time. I’ve wanted to try this technique for quite a while.  I’m so glad I finally gave it a try. Somehow the leaf was not fully covered by foil. What a pity, but it looks organic. Ha!

Hope my card is inspirational to you. Thanks for stopping by and have a pleasant day.

Card details
1. Apply various Distress Oxide Inks (Tim Holtz, Ranger) over flower stencil (Simon Says Stamp) on a white card panel.
2. Apply Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo over Leaf stencil (Simon Says Stamp) and let completely dry.
3. Place a piece of green foil (Ranger) over leaf image which has been covered by transfer gel. Run through die cut machine and get foil leaf image.
4. Die cut the panel with Wonky Stitched Rectangle (My Favorite Things).
5. Stamp sentiment (Simon Says Stamp) in white on a black card scrap and heat emboss (Wow Embossing Powder).
6. Adhere some sequins and assemble the card as shown.

Challenges Entered

I was so inspired by Simon Says Stamp’s 5 Ways in 5 Days FREE Crafty Series: DAY 5: Foiling that I had to dig out my foil (for the first time)! Besides, I love flowers and leaves in real life. They constantly inspire me to make all kinds of cards.
My style is to incorporate several techniques (e.g. Foiling with Stencil and Paste, Heat Embossing, Distress Oxide Inks Blending and die cutting in this card) while keeping it simple and feminine.
