Happy Crafting

Hi Artsy Friend,

It’s time to play along with Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge again. The June Challenge Theme is once again Anything Goes.

No matter if your project is CAS, Mixed Media, Art Journal, Tag,…, as long as it involves stencils, you’re welcomed to join. For Challenge Rules and other DT’s inspirations, please check out the Challenge Blog.  The Theme has endless possibilities and I can’t wait to see what you have come up with.

This month I challenged myself to play with multi-layer stenciling. It’s also my first time to try applying embossing powder over embossing paste. I’d like to thank Tania Ahmed for the inspirations as this is in fact Lesson 6 homework of her Demystifying Mixed Media Art Journals Online Class offered at Altenew Academy. It’s a shame that I’m far behind! Instead of creating an art journal page, the card size is more manageable for me. Hope my card is inspirational to you. Wish all of you happy crafting. Thanks for stopping by and wish you a great day ahead.

Card Details

1. Apply distress ink (Fossilized Amber) over background stencil (Beveled Squares, Altenew), leaving some white space on four sides.

2. Apply distress ink (Vintage Photo) over alphabet/number stencil (Tim Holtz) as shown. Heat set.

3. Apply embossing paste (Altenew) over stencil (Mixed Sprinkles, Altenew) randomly. Sprinkle gold embossing powder (Altenew) over embossing paste. Heat set.

4. Layered-stamping two Morning Glory flowers (Altenew) and die cut.

5. Stamp sentiments (Altenew) in black, flower stems in green. Adhere the flowers as shown.

6. Mount the card base to a half-folded card. Voila!

I'd like to enter my card to the following Challenges.

Challenges to Enter

I was inspired by the color scheme.

I did not play with the optional color.

I’ve chosen two words from the Poem, SPRING and EARTH. For me flowers, Morning Glory, represent spring and brown color represents earth.
